One of the first questions I ask my clients when they come to me for Reiki or any other energy session, is "how much water do you drink?" Many will say "I don't know", or "I should really drink more water", or "I don't like the taste of water." I have to admit that sometimes I look for better ways to remind me to drink water, especially if I'm not reading and working with my clients or working out that day. Here are a few gentle suggestions to help you enjoy water and remember to drink it!
Add fruit, infused tea, herbs, or any natural flavoring you have to your water to add flavor and electrolytes to your water. Look for containers that have filters in them or add your own. These are all glass pictured above and are fun and portable.
Here's what I prepared my water bottles this morning: Strawberries, infused green tea, concentrated Lingonberry (1 teaspoon) These are only suggestions. Try something new and colorful!
If you're water tastes "funny" to you, try installing an RO(reverse osmosis) water filtering system which I highly recommend as It really pays off long term, using tap filters, ozonating or adding a natural flavor to your water. There are also water testers available at your local hardware store. We've noticed that when our friends drink water at our home, they really love it because it does go through the RO system and there is no aftertaste.
I urge you to keep your drinking glasses and containers clean and dry when you aren't using them and remember to use materials that are safe. Not all water containers are equal, so please be safe and do your homework.
Consider bringing your water from home with you, and have it ready ahead of time.
I hope you'll be inspired, especially if you feel drawn to drinking more water. Your body knows, and I invite you to pay attention to the signals it may be giving you.
May you be joyful, well,in the flow with your intuition and life. Allow the energy of water to help.
